I am so excited to be your child’s resource teacher this year. I am from Foreman, Arkansas (SW corner of the state). I earned my B.S.E in Elementary Education and my M.S.E in Early Childhood Education. I have taugh Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd grade, Middle School Resource and Inclusion Math previously. This will be my 12th year teaching students in the NW Arkansas area.
I completed ESL academy in 2014 at Arkansas Tech in Russellville and I just recently finished my Masters in Special Education K-12 degree from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro in December of 2018.
This is my third year to teach special education and I have attended professional development workshops in the areas of concious discipline, social and emotional development, autism, behavior interventions, and special education law.
I started teaching at Huntsville Public Schools in the Fall of 2016 and this will be my 4th year as a Huntsville Eagle. I am currently teaching resource reading, writing and literacy for 4th & 5th grade students.
My Granny taught in Winthrop and Foreman, Arkansas for 31 years. She always encouraged me to be creative and to never give up. She always talked about loving students and trying a different approach or explaining information in a different way until “the lightbulb went off.”
I am married to my wonderful husband Chris and we have three boys. Jaiden has just entered the Coast Gaurd. Cameron will be in 2nd grade this fall and Sebastian will be in Kindergarten. We have one pet, a 10-year-old great dane named Galaxy.
When I am not teaching, I am usually watching my boys play sports or reading a book.
